Technical buyers hate subject lines that sound like marketing. They ignore "Revolutionizing Manufacturing" and "Your Robotics Solution Awaits."

"Question on integrating collaborative arms with your existing line" - This works because it's specific and assumes nothing. The decision maker opens it because they either do have that question, or they want to know why you're asking.
Benchmark-based subject lines:
"Most plants we talk to are running at 65-70% utilization on their automation" - This works because it's a number they can either agree or disagree with, and it's industry-specific enough to feel credible.
Trigger-based subject lines:
"Quick question on your new [Facility Name] build-out" - This works because it references something you actually know about, and it's short.
What doesn't work: "Robotics Opportunity for [Company Name]" - Nobody opens this. It's generic and says nothing.
Your first two sentences need to establish that you understand their specific situation - not their industry in general, but their actual operation.

The good opener works because it's specific and it immediately anchors the conversation to a real number. They either think "that's about right" or "that's way off," and either way, you've got their attention because you're not being vague.
From there, your email should:

That last line is the key. It's not "want to chat?" It's a specific technical question that only makes sense if they actually have this setup. If they don't, they won't reply. If they do, they're likely to answer because it's a legitimate question.
Robotics decision makers are slow to move because the implementation is complex. Your follow-up sequence should reflect that - longer gaps, different angles, not more urgency.
Day 0: Initial email (technical, specific question)

Day 20: Final follow-up - "Going to stop emailing, but wanted to leave you with one resource" - link to something genuinely useful, then stop
After that, you're done. Robotics sales moves slowly because it has to. You're not going to chase someone into a $500K implementation deal.
